How do I properly submit a form and show an alert? I was able to submit the form and show an alert, but I had to click the button twice.  Also, will you please give an example that shows how to set field values and switch to a different form view?

Hi,

Building a new Approval Workflow where the user must enter their Approver on the form via a field of type "People".

I am using the field via $WFItemFields(Approver) in the "Assign To" field of a standard request approval.

However, when the workflow runs the user is not assigned. It remains blank.

Any help appreciated.

Nate

Hi All. Has anyone found a solution for exporting to PDF, whilst maintain the resolution of the form? Whenever I export to PDF, the resolution is poor (if the width of the view is set to say 1000 pixels). The only way I seem to have at this point, is to make the form size 2480 x 3508 pixels (which is the resolution for A4). This makes the view size of the form huge. Any help would be appreciated

I have a form with about 14 items in a CheckBoxList Control, I have created a form view for each item, the form view is named the same as the checkbox item. I want to do the following:

Each form except the main form has three buttons (BACK, NEXT, SUBMIT)

I want the Next button on the main form to go to the first selected form associated with the checkbox item. On the next form I want the Next button to go to the next form and the back button to go to the first form and so on.

For Example if a user selects checkbox A,B,E,H

Main Form Next Button -- > A Form
A Form Next Button -- > B Form
A Form Back Button --> Main Form
A Form Submit Button --> Hidden
B Form Next Button --> E Form
B Form Back Button --> A Form
B Form Submit Button --> Hidden
E Form Next Button -->H Form
E Form Back Button -->B Form
E Form Submit Button --> Hidden
H Form Next Button --> NONE
H Form Submit Button --> Submit
H Form Back Button -- E Form

I am using a textbox as a date field. I do this to be able to allow the users to select a date or if the date is unknown use UNK.

e.g.

03/22/2017

03/UNK/2017

03/22/20UNK

In the past I would just add something like this to my global jQuery and set my field CSS to DATEFIELD.

$('.DATEFIELD').attr("placeholder", "mm/dd/yyyy").datepicker({ constrainInput: false

 });

I have set the CCS to Datepicker and I know I can get this to work but how can I apply constrainInput: false to the current jQuery?

ref: https://api.jqueryui.com/datepicker/#option-constrainInput

Thanks.

This video will show you how you can allow your form's users to select and upload files to your SharePoint farm and link them in your form through the files explorer dialog and without the need to do any manual operation like what users have to do when using InfoPath forms. This can be done easily using SPARK Forms Builder by creating a simple rule on a button. In less than 5 minutes you will be able to provide your users with a great technique to work with files, images ..etc and manage to integrate them with your different form's controls such as image and hyperlink controls.

I have received the following questions regarding dealing with SPARK forms URL parameters and how to deal with them:

1. How do I test whether or not the parameter is even present in the URL? I have tried isEmpty()/isNotEmpty() and length() functions but get "Unable to get property 'character' of undefined or null reference" error when I try to save. If I use =='' or !='' then the rule doesn't seem to work either.

2. How can I set the value of a field on the form to what is entered in for the parameter? The setValue() function does not allow getFormQueryString() to be used as the value. I get the same error as in #1.

The Answer:

1-      getFormQueryString('The Parameter')!=null

2-      you have Two ways to do that:
a)

setValue(TextBox5,getFormQueryString('source')!=null?getFormQueryString('source'):'')

b)

try{

setValue(TextBox5,getFormQueryString('source'))

}catch(ev){}

I really like the List Grid View control, especially being able to select the specific fields and adding a query to limit what is returned. I have a List Grid View control that I have set the width to 500 and am only returning 1 field (single line of text, up to 255 characters). When I view the data, the field is being truncated, even though there is plenty of space displaying. I can move the bar over so it will all display, but I would like the display to show all it can for the width provided. All of the data also displays if I hover over. It's frustrating to only see the beginning part of the field when there is space available in the control.

Also this video will show you how to send emails through your forms by designing an email templates and using the internal sendEmail() function to send them to users and external emails as well.
